INTERFLAM®
EW
INTERFLAM®
fire-resistant safety glass is also available as a
Class EW product in two types
- a monolithic fire protection glass with a special coating applied to one surface
- a layered product containing a newly-developed gel element
both types of product serve to reduce the intensity of radiated heat, making them suitable for installation where clear fire containment must be combined with impact safety, be that in
multi-storey architecture, ships glazing or other forms of transportation. |
|
Function:
Fire containment, clear vision under fire conditions, radiated heat reduction
|
|
Energy of furnace

Reflection of the radiated heat
on the fire side
and
Less radiated heat transmitted
limited by fire test standards
|
| Function:
Fire containment, obscured under fire conditions, enhanced reduction of radiated heat. |
Energy of furnace |
|
Absorption of the heat
and
Great reduction of radiated heat |
The amount of heat radiated through the structure remains at less than 15 kW/m², measured at
a distance of 1 metre from the glass.
Benefit: makes narrower escape routes possible. |
|
INTERFLAM® EW is variously available from 6 mm monolithic single panes, as a laminated safety glass or in double-glazed insulating unit format, to offer fire protection from 30 through to 120 minutes.
Any INTERFLAM® EW product may only be used in a suitably approved frame system. (pdf
